Rooted Reset™ Retreat | Costa Rica

Only A Few Villas Remain

Experience Costa Rica Beyond The Tourist Version.

From the mountains of Guanacaste to the Nicoya Peninsula, this week takes you beyond sightseeing and closer to the food, traditions, people, pace, and everyday rhythms behind pura vida.

Seven days thoughtfully built around experiences most travelers would never know how to find on their own. We’ll spend time with local people, learn where traditions actually come from, eat incredibly well, explore places worth getting off the usual route for, and spend five nights in Nosara with plenty of room for adventure, laughter, rest, and Costa Rica getting to surprise us.

Week One · July 20–26, 2027 Week Two · July 25–31, 2027 Guanacaste + Nicoya Peninsula · Costa Rica

$750 secures your place in the experience. Flexible payment plans available.

More Than A Beautiful Trip

We’re Not Coming To Costa Rica Just To See It.

Rooted Reset™ is about getting closer to the way a place is actually lived — the food, traditions, people, movement, connection, pace, and everyday rhythms you can’t understand from a resort pool or a sightseeing checklist.

01 · Go Deeper

Spend Time Where The Story Actually Lives.

In the mountains. Inside local communities. Around tables. With people who can show us the traditions, food, and way of life that would be easy to miss if we stayed on the usual tourist route.

02 · Live The Rhythm

Experience What Pura Vida Feels Like In Real Life.

Longer meals. More time outside. Natural movement. Gathering. Rest. Play. Adventure. Enough room in the day to notice what changes when everything isn’t being rushed.

03 · Bring It Home

Keep The Parts You Want More Of.

You’re not coming home to recreate Costa Rica. You’re coming home knowing which pieces of pura vida, connection, food, movement, and pace you want to make more room for in your own life.

And That’s Exactly How We Built The Week

Not around checking off sights — around experiences worth actually being there for.

Your Costa Rica Story Starts In The Mountains

Land In Costa Rica. Then Take Your First Step Into Pura Vida.

After a full day of travel, you won’t have to think about rental cars, directions, or what comes next. Land at Liberia International Airport, meet us there, and we’ll take you into the Guanacaste countryside near Rincón de la Vieja for the first chapter of our week together.

Night One · Borinquen Thermal Resort

From The Airport To The Mountains — We’ve Got You.

We’ll pick you up at Liberia International Airport and take you into the countryside near Rincón de la Vieja, where Borinquen Thermal Resort becomes our home for the first night.

If your flight gets you in with time to spare, the afternoon is yours to settle into the property — soak in the natural thermal waters, enjoy the pool, wander the mountain setting, or try Borinquen’s volcanic mud baths before we gather for our first evening together.

The mud bath experience is one of those wonderfully Costa Rican moments that’s hard to replicate anywhere else: mineral-rich volcanic mud, warm thermal water, jungle all around you, and absolutely no need to look polished while doing it.

Your First Morning In Guanacaste

Fuel Up For The Day With A Taste Of Costa Rican Tradition.

Wake up in the mountains and follow the sound of live marimba into a breakfast experience created especially for our group.

Preview of the Rooted Reset™ Costa Rican breakfast experience at Borinquen

This Is The Kind Of Morning We Came To Costa Rica For.

We’ll sit down together to a traditional Costa Rican breakfast while the marimba plays, make fresh tortillas, and experience coffee through the traditional chorreador method — an easy first taste of the food and traditions woven into everyday life here.

There are still a few surprises we’re keeping to ourselves. But we want this morning to feel like more than fueling up before the next stop. We want you to look around the table and think, “Okay. We are really in Costa Rica.”

And once breakfast is finished and the coffee cups are empty, our next adventure begins.

Day Two · Into The Nicoya Peninsula

Spend The Day With The Chorotega Community.

As we make our way toward Nosara, we’ll spend part of the day with the Chorotega community, whose history is woven deeply into this part of Costa Rica. This isn’t a stop where we simply look around. We’ll learn directly from the people carrying these traditions forward, get our own hands involved, and share a meal together before continuing toward the coast.

Chorotega artisan creating traditional ceramics in Costa Rica
Traditional meal prepared by the Chorotega community

Learn It. Make It. Taste It. Meet The People Behind It.

We’ll be welcomed into the ceramic workshop, where pieces are shaped and decorated using techniques and materials connected to traditions carried through generations.

We’ll hear directly from the artisans about what they create, where those traditions come from, and what the work means within their community.

Then it’s our turn to get our hands into the clay and try part of the process ourselves before sitting down together for a homemade, wood-fired meal prepared by the community.

01

Learn directly from Chorotega artisans and hear the stories behind the ceramic tradition.

02

Work with the clay yourself and experience part of the pottery-making process firsthand.

03

Shop directly from the artisans and gather around the table for a homemade meal together.

This Is Why We Go Beyond The Tourist Route

A Piece Of Pottery Means More When You Know The Hands, History, And Place Behind It.

There’s a big difference between seeing something beautiful in a shop and sitting beside the people who know how it is made, hearing the story behind it, trying it yourself, and sharing a meal before you leave. That’s the kind of Costa Rica we want you to experience.

And after lunch, we’ll keep making our way toward Nosara.

Five Nights On The Nicoya Peninsula

Then We Arrive In The Part Of Costa Rica That Inspired This Retreat In The First Place.

By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Nosara on the Nicoya Peninsula. This is where we stop moving from place to place, unpack for five nights, and let the rest of the week begin to feel a little more like living here than visiting.

Why The Nicoya Peninsula?

This Is One Of The Places That Changed The Conversation About Living Longer.

The Nicoya Peninsula drew worldwide attention because of the way people here have historically lived — simple food, natural movement, time outside, strong relationships, purpose, and plenty of reasons to gather. We’re not coming to copy someone else’s life or turn longevity into another checklist. We’re coming to experience the place ourselves and notice what feels worth taking home.

Our Home For The Next Five Nights

Welcome To Paradise Villas.

This is the point in the trip where you can actually unpack your suitcase and leave it that way for a while.

Paradise Villas gives our group a private place to come home to between adventures — cool off in the pools, walk toward the beach, gather around the table, linger over dinner, or disappear into your villa for an afternoon nap because you felt like it.

Five nights here gives us something a packed itinerary never can: enough time for the place to start feeling familiar.

Five nights in your own private villa accommodation

Two pools on the property

Walking path to the beach

Private chef + mixologist while we’re at the villas

01 · Settle In

Stop Feeling Like You Have To Fit Everything In.

Swim before breakfast. Take the long way back from the beach. Sit at the table longer. Nap in the afternoon. Wake up knowing you don’t have to pack your suitcase again tomorrow.

02 · Stay Curious

Leave Room For Costa Rica To Surprise You.

Wildlife, sunsets, beach walks, spontaneous conversations, and whatever happens to show up while we’re there. And if nature cooperates during nesting season, we may even have the chance to witness sea turtles.

03 · Meals Are Handled

Come Back Hungry. We’ve Got The Food Covered.

While we’re at Paradise Villas, our private chef will build meals around the rhythm of our days while our mixologist keeps smoothies, electrolytes, mocktails, and a signature dinner drink flowing.

And When You Want More Nosara

There’s Time To Wander Without Wondering What To Do.

Before we arrive, you’ll have our Nosara guide with ideas for local shops, surf lessons, bike rentals, beach time, experiences, and places worth exploring. So when a free afternoon comes and you feel like heading into town, renting a bike, trying surfing, or simply seeing what’s around the corner, you’ll already have a place to start.

The Rhythm Of The Week

Every Day Has Something Planned. Not Every Day Asks The Same Thing Of You.

We built the week to move between adventure, culture, food, restoration, time outside, and plenty of laughter. You’ll have somewhere worth going every day — but one day may have you flying through the trees while another asks you to put on a robe, book a massage, and remember how good it feels to stop doing for a while.

Ziplining through the canopy in Costa Rica

01 · Adventure

Get Up In The Trees.

One of our adventure days takes us into the canopy for ziplining — the kind of morning that gets your heart going, makes you laugh at yourself a little, and gives you a completely different view of Costa Rica.

Costa Rican cooking experience

02 · Gather

Cook, Gather + Stay Awhile.

One of our days brings us back around the table for a hands-on Costa Rican cooking experience, followed by the kind of meal and evening where nobody is watching the clock.

Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort and Spa in Nosara

03 · Exhale

Spend The Day At Bodhi Tree.

And then there’s Bodhi Tree — a lush, Balinese-inspired wellness resort tucked into the Nosara jungle. We’ll spend the day there with a beautiful meal and time at the luxurious Bodhi Tree Spa, where you can choose the kind of treatment that sounds best when you finally have nowhere else you need to be.

Surfing and beach time in Nosara

When There’s Room To Choose

Make A Free Afternoon Your Own.

Head to the beach. Book a surf lesson. Rent a bike. Wander into town. Shop. Nap. Stay by the pool. When the itinerary gives you a little room, you get to decide what sounds good once you’re actually there.

Private sunset catamaran experience in Costa Rica

Our Final Night

One Last Costa Rica Sunset — From The Water.

We’ll spend our final evening aboard a private catamaran, sailing to a pink-sand beach before dinner and sunset on the water. Then it’s back to the villas for dessert and one last night together before it’s time to head home.

And Then There’s Everything In Between

The Schedule Gives Us The Experiences. The In-Between Is Where The Stories Happen.

The conversation that keeps going after dinner. The joke that follows us for the rest of the week. The person who almost backed out of ziplining and did it anyway. The moments nobody could have put on an itinerary because they only happen once we’re all there together.

A Few Villas Remain

If You’ve Been Thinking, “I Want To Be There,” This Is Your Moment.

You’ve seen how the week unfolds. Now choose the dates that work best for you and the villa that feels right. Both retreat weeks include the same full Rooted Reset™ Costa Rica experience.

$750 secures your place. Flexible payment plans are available at registration.

The Women Are Part Of The Experience

You Don’t Have To Know Anyone Before You Come.

Rooted Reset™ tends to attract women who are curious, adventurous, health-minded, open to trying new things, and excited about having more life in their years. Some come with a friend. Plenty come alone. Either way, you won’t be walking into Costa Rica as a stranger to everyone.

01 · Come As You Are

Come Alone Without Feeling Alone.

You absolutely do not need to convince a friend to come with you. We create plenty of opportunities to connect before the retreat, so arrival day doesn’t feel like walking into a room full of strangers.

02 · Do It Together

The Week Gives You Plenty To Bond Over.

Ziplining. Cooking. Beach time. Long meals. Mud baths. Pool afternoons. Trying things you almost talked yourself out of. There’s a reason the inside jokes usually start pretty quickly.

03 · Keep The Good Ones

The Trip Ends. The Group Chat Usually Doesn’t.

The destination matters, but so do the friendships, conversations, ridiculous moments, and women you end up texting long after everyone has flown home.

Your Retreat Starts Before Costa Rica

By July, You’ll Already Know The Women, The Plan, And A Little More Spanish.

Your Rooted Community access is included as part of the retreat experience, along with a private Costa Rica space just for your group. That gives us months to connect, prepare, learn together, and make arrival day feel a lot more like meeting women you’ve already been talking to.

From Women Who Said Yes

Sometimes The Hardest Part Really Is Saying Yes.

Women arrive at Rooted Reset™ for different reasons. But again and again, they leave talking about the things they tried, the women they met, the confidence they found, and the memories they’re still telling stories about long after they get home.

“I Almost Let Fear Talk Me Out Of Coming.”

I had people telling me I was too out of shape, that it was too expensive, and that maybe this was not for me. The hardest part was that I started to believe them.

Saying yes to the retreat became a wake-up call. I saw how often fear had been leading my life, and I came home with a clarity I did not even realize I needed.

It was not just a trip. It was the moment I remembered I was allowed to want more for myself.

Angie Is Joining Us For Her Fourth Rooted Reset™ Retreat

“After Two Years Of Saying No, I Finally Said Yes.”

After two years of saying no for various reasons, I finally said yes — and I will never regret it. Susan was the kindest, most supportive, fun-loving retreat host I could have asked for.

She made sure we were completely taken care of throughout the week, from our rooms and meals to every adventure we experienced. There truly wasn’t one thing she hadn’t thought of.

I am already looking forward to next year’s retreat — and many more years of saying yes to these experiences.

Nicole Waited Two Years To Say Yes. Now She’s Coming Back.

Georgia

★★★★★

“Susan thought of everything. The property was beautiful, the food was great, and the staff was so personable and attentive. I always felt taken care of, and Susan made sure everything was exactly as it needed to be.”

Natealyn

★★★★★

“This retreat exceeded my expectations. I came hoping for clarity and left feeling recharged, more connected, and so grateful for the women I met. I relaxed, laughed, and did things I never thought I would do.”

Nicole

★★★★★

“I came hoping to find me again, meet new people, and go home with a sense of direction and happiness. I left with lifelong friendships, memories I’ll never forget, and experiences that truly changed me.”

Sometimes saying yes is the part that takes courage. The women who come usually end up very glad they did.

Before You Book

A Few Things You’re Probably Wondering.

From coming alone and booking flights to payment plans, Bodhi Tree, transportation, and what happens after you reserve your place — here are the questions women tend to ask before saying yes.

Can I come by myself?

Absolutely. You do not need to convince a friend to come with you. Many women attend Rooted Reset™ Retreats on their own, and you’ll begin connecting with the group long before we arrive in Costa Rica.

Between your private Costa Rica space inside the Rooted Community, Pura Vida Spanish Club, pre-trip conversations, and retreat preparation, you’ll already recognize names and faces by the time we meet in person.

What about security at the villas?

There is security on the property, and your comfort is part of how we plan the retreat — from where we stay to how we move throughout the week.

Retreat transportation and our planned experiences are arranged for the group as well, so you’re not expected to navigate unfamiliar roads or transportation on your own.

Which airport should I fly into?

Fly into Liberia International Airport (LIR) in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

We’ll provide registered guests with the arrival details and transportation guidance you need so you know exactly where to go once you land.

What should I know before booking my flights?

We’ll share detailed arrival guidance with registered guests so you can coordinate your flight with our airport transportation.

On departure day, we plan to leave Nosara around 9:00 AM and arrive at Liberia International Airport around 11:30 AM. We recommend booking your return flight for 2:00 PM or later.

Will I need to rent a car?

No. Retreat transportation is arranged for the group beginning with airport pickup and continuing throughout our planned retreat experiences.

No rental car. No group caravan. No trying to figure out unfamiliar roads after a travel day.

Do I have to participate in every activity?

No. We’ve planned experiences throughout the week because we genuinely want you to do Costa Rica with us — but nobody is keeping score.

If there’s something that simply isn’t for you, you’re allowed to opt out. The goal is to be part of the experience, not force yourself through something you truly don’t want to do.

Will I have any free time?

Yes. We have planned experiences every day, but the schedule also includes pockets of time where you can decide what sounds good once you’re there.

That might mean the pool, beach, Nosara, shopping, a surf lesson, a bike ride, a nap, or simply staying put for a little while before we gather again.

What’s included during our day at Bodhi Tree?

Our day at Bodhi Tree is part of your retreat experience and includes time to enjoy the property, a meal, and one spa treatment.

Because we’ll be there for the day, you’ll also have the option to book additional treatments, classes, or other experiences at Bodhi Tree at your own expense if something catches your eye.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

We’ll collect dietary information from registered guests before the retreat and share it with the appropriate chefs and food partners as we finalize menus.

If you have significant allergies or very specific dietary needs, let us know when you register so we can talk through what can reasonably be accommodated.

Is airfare included?

No. Flights to and from Liberia International Airport are not included in your retreat investment.

Once you arrive, however, we’ve already taken care of a whole lot of what happens next.

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance is not included in your retreat investment, and we strongly recommend purchasing coverage that fits your individual travel needs.

What’s the difference between the Private Villa and VIP King Villa?

The Private Villa gives you your own villa with a full-size bed, ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and fan, private patio, and access to the shared property spaces and pools.

The VIP King Villa includes a king bed, ensuite bathroom, kitchenette and mini refrigerator, additional living and resting space, an upgraded room at Borinquen on our first night, elevated retreat gifts and VIP touches, and a private 1:1 Rooted session with Susan.

How do payments work?

A $750 deposit secures your place and villa selection for the Rooted Reset™ Costa Rica retreat.

Flexible payment plan options are available at registration, so you can choose the option that works best for you.

What happens after I book?

You’ll receive your next steps along with access to the Rooted Community and your private Costa Rica retreat space.

That’s where we’ll share retreat updates, travel information, packing guidance, your Nosara guide, Pura Vida Spanish Club details, introductions to the women you’re traveling with, and everything else you’ll want as July gets closer.

Still Wondering About Something?

Ask Before You Talk Yourself Out Of It.

If there’s a practical question standing between you and Costa Rica, reach out. We’d much rather help you get the information you need than have you sit there filling in the blanks yourself.

Once the questions are answered, all that’s left is deciding which week has your name on it.
