Rooted Reset™ Retreat | Okinawa

November 1–8, 2027 · Okinawa, Japan

Come See What Okinawa Gets Right About Living Well.

In November 2027, Rooted Reset™ is going to Okinawa — one of the world’s most fascinating longevity cultures.

We’ll immerse ourselves in the food, movement, purpose, connection, traditions, and everyday rhythms that have shaped life here for generations.

Then we’ll ask the question that matters most: what do we want to bring home?

Why Okinawa

We’re Going To Experience What Okinawa Has Been Getting Right For Generations.

Okinawa’s longevity story is bigger than a food list or a statistic about how long people live.

It’s woven into everyday life — how people eat, move, gather, stay useful, stay connected, spend time outside, honor tradition, and continue having reasons to get up in the morning.

Rooted Reset™ Okinawa is about getting close enough to actually experience those rhythms: eating the food, learning from local people, sharing conversations across generations, exploring ikigai, moving through the places people call home, and seeing what life here feels like from the inside.

We’re not going to Okinawa to copy someone else’s life. We’re going to notice what we want to bring back into our own.

What We’re Building

Less Sightseeing. More Stepping Into Okinawan Life.

The final itinerary will be shaped through my scouting trip and local partnerships, but these are the kinds of experiences I’m intentionally building around.

01

Learn From The People Who Live It.

Spend meaningful time with Okinawan elders and local people — listening to their stories, learning how they spend their days, and experiencing longevity as real life rather than a theory.

02

Eat, Cook & Learn The Food.

Experience traditional Okinawan meals, ingredients, herbs, and cooking — with the goal of understanding not only what people eat here, but what parts can realistically come home with us.

03

Explore Ikigai Beyond The Instagram Diagram.

Dig into what ikigai actually means in Japanese life: purpose, usefulness, meaning, and the reasons we continue engaging with life as we grow older.

04

Experience Culture, Not Just Observe It.

Think neighborhood walks, traditional crafts, music, movement, local healing traditions, gathering around a table, and the kinds of everyday experiences you won’t understand from a tour bus.

We’re going to learn with our whole lives — not just take notes about how other people live.

Before We Ever Board The Plane

We’ll Start Understanding Okinawa Before We Ever Arrive.

Retreat guests will become part of the Rooted Community before travel day, which means we’ll have time to connect with each other and start learning about the culture we’re about to enter.

Along with our twice-monthly Seasonal Cooking Classes with Haruka of Gut Chef Japan, I’m planning Okinawa-specific experiences such as an ikigai workshop, conversations around food and longevity, cultural preparation, and opportunities to understand the traditions we’ll encounter once we’re there.

I want us arriving curious and prepared — not as women checking attractions off a list, but as guests ready to pay attention.

The more we understand before we go, the more we’ll notice once we’re there.

I’m Going First

I’m Building This Retreat With Okinawa — Not Just Around It.

In November 2026, I’m heading to Okinawa to scout Rooted Reset™ in person before the retreat opens for registration.

I’ll be meeting local people and potential partners, experiencing the food and longevity traditions firsthand, visiting the places we may stay and explore, and looking for the experiences that let us interact with Okinawan life rather than simply observe it.

I’m especially interested in working with local experts who center Okinawan voices, support local people, and create opportunities for genuine cultural exchange.

If you’re on the interest list, you’ll get to follow along as the retreat takes shape — including what I discover, who I meet, and which experiences ultimately become part of Rooted Reset™ Okinawa.

I want the women who come with me to feel like we were invited into Okinawa — not simply dropped off there.

A Few Things You May Be Wondering

Before You Put Your Name On The List…

Are the dates confirmed?

The retreat is planned for November 1–8, 2027, and those are the dates currently being held for Rooted Reset™ Okinawa.

Where in Okinawa will we stay?

The retreat is being developed around Okinawa, with lodging and final experiences being confirmed through the scouting process.

Is this a traditional wellness retreat?

No. Rooted Reset™ is built around experiencing the everyday rhythms associated with living well — food, natural movement, connection, purpose, adventure, rest, and culture — rather than spending the week sitting in workshops.

What does joining the interest list mean?

You’ll receive scouting updates and first access to retreat details and registration. Joining the list does not obligate you to attend.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Many Rooted Reset™ women travel solo, and retreat guests begin connecting before travel through the Rooted Community.
